A Quiet Place: Part II is an upcoming American horror film that’s the sequel to A Quiet Place (2018). The sequel film, written and directed by John Krasinski, stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe reprising their roles from the primary film. Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou also join the cast.

Talks for a sequel began in April 2018 following the box-office success of the primary film. By August 2018, Krasinski was writing the film, and he was hired in February 2019 to direct. Production happened in Upstate ny from June 2019 to September 2019.

“Following the deadly events reception, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the surface world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound aren’t the sole threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Paramount Pictures produced the primary film, A Quiet Place, on a budget of $17 million.[2] Paramount released the film within the us and Canada in April 2018 and grossed $50.2 million on opening weekend, well above a mid-$20 million forecast. Later in April, Paramount Chair and CEO Jim Gianopulos announced that a sequel was in development. (The first film ultimately grossed $188 million within the US and Canada and $340.9 million worldwide.)[3] John Krasinski, who directed and starred within the first film, said he considered it “as a one-off” but that with the sequel planned, he started considering the larger fictional universe to explore possibilities.[4] By August, Krasinski was writing the film, and a director had not been hired yet.[5] consistent with Krasinski, Paramount rejected pitches from other writers and directors that were considered too franchise-oriented, and therefore the studio invited him to write down a script supported his “tiny concept fit that world and will be exciting”.[6] Cinematographer Polly Morgan described the sequel’s approach, “It’s more about the youngsters growing up, exploring the planet and learning to guard themselves.”[7]

By February of 2019, Krasinski was hired to direct the sequel, and actors Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe were confirmed to reprise their roles.[8] In March, Cillian Murphy joined the cast.[9] within the following June, Brian Tyree Henry joined the cast,[10] but he left the film thanks to scheduling problems. He was replaced by Djimon Hounsou in August.[11]

In June 2019, production began on the sequel.[12] Filming officially commenced on July 15, 2019.[13] Filming happened throughout Upstate ny, including Erie County and one among its villages, Akron. A 30-second teaser trailer for A Quiet Place: Part II previewed before select theatrical screenings of Black Christmas, which was released on December 13, 2019. but every week later, the teaser trailer became available online. A full trailer are going to be released on January 1, 2020

Paramount Pictures plans to release A Quiet Place: Part II in theaters, including Dolby Cinema and IMAX, on March 20, 2020.[1] It initially planned to release the film on May 15, 2020.[19] The film will open against the Christian biographical drama film I Still Believe.
